In the Arengold Forest, very few tribes can be called agricultural. In most situations, tribes must forage for their food. While it is plentiful, the hunters of each tribe are constantly put in danger from the beasts and dangerous terrain of the Arengold Forest. New hunters especially must be taught to watch their feet or risk terrible damage.

Characustal is different. This human tribe is located on the far north of the planet, almost exactly between the Arengold Tree and the Vault on the human side of the planet. The tribe is fairly large, about 3/4ths of the size of the human capital.

This tribe has mastered the art of farming. Despite the typically freezing atmosphere of this part of the Arengold Forest, the Characustal is able to grow four different types of plants; the edible Roci and Lung-Lung, and the craftable material Doi and Sella.

Their ability to grow has reduced their need to travel and forage. The tribe is one of the safest on the Arengold Forest, and has the largest rate of growth on the planet. Their artwork includes crafting with Doi and Sella, water paint with Roci, and creating wooden sculptures.

The Agriculture of the Characustal

• Roci: A small red fruit that grows in many bundles. Despite its small size, even a single Roci can satisfy someone's needs for a day.
• Lung-Lung: A large, almost intimidating pale fruit. This food is capable of healing wounds, though must be fully consumed for any noticible recovery to occur.
• Doi: This substance is exceptionally soft and flexible, making it perfect for the warm clothes that humans rely on to survive on the northern pole.
• Sella: A hardy, stick-like fruit. While useless in appearance, the Characustal are able to meld them into weapons, like arrows and swords, that can contend with weapons made of Arengold Bark.

The Tribe Elder

Like many human tribes, the tribe elder accepts the name of the tribe. Characustal is a very old man with knowledge of the tribe's agriculture and little else. He is not seen as a guiding light for the group; merely a relic of the old days who knows much about farming. He is still respected, especially when it comes to droughts. His relationship with Ïorreg is very tight, and he can often be the only thing standing in the way of the tribe's death during hot periods.
