The Ardent Rift

The Rift. A cut in the cloth of our reality revealing unseen and unnumbered layers. An infinite amount of levels stacked upon themselves. Each level is a sealed off realm with "Veins" spread throughout them. These Veins are great hollow tubes filled with life, built of the nearly indestructible living rock sprung from the Rift itself. Hundreds to thousands of these Veins can exist on any given plane of the Ardent Rift. Most are connected, like veins in an organism, but some have broken off, and are isolated from the network. A network that it is built with a thousand universes, a small piece from each. An awesome quilt thats peaks and valleys are pieces of worlds spanning not only space, but time. These wayward pieces bring unimaginable landscapes, creatures, civilizations, technology, and culture. The Veins travel deep into the core of the Rift, creating a web made from the flesh of worlds and the blood of the universe, and the power to bind it; --null--. A primordial energy emanating from the core of the Ardent Rift, it has transformed what was once an abstract composition of pieces into unity. Yet, despite its enigmatic nature, the denizens of the Rift find new ways to harness the --null--, and thus to control the Rift itself. Unaware of the true nature of what is beyond the Rift, with histories of its grand formation and abduction of their ancestors lost to time, the people of the Ardent Rift are naïve to anything beyond the walls that hold them in this space between realities. Just as those outside are unaware of the Rift’s existence, for its walls cannot be seen. The story of the Ardent Rift has been happening all around you for as long as you have known. You have felt it, sometimes it was the potential in the air, or the nights when your imagination runs out of your control. Even now, you consciousness wanders, and reaches out to what is happening right in front of you. A world almost unimaginable begs to be experienced. But will forever be out of reach, for it is certain... The Age of the Ardent Rift is over.
