The Fountain of Youth

Summary

The legendary Spring of Life, the Water of Worlds, and Blood of Existence, the Fountain of Youth has been storied all across the Anomalous Plane as an inspiration for adventurers and nations alike. While little evidence is able to support it, there are many who believe that the Fountain appears for those who are worthy to find it, and has a way of knowing who will best use the life it gives. It is central to most of the world's mythologies as the water that was present during the creation of the plane. The Circle of Nine religion (unofficially) associates their Pennjaerim-the goddess of growth and the untamed with the Fountain of Youth, either as one of her avatars or a gift she has left for us all. The Church of the Sun and the Church of the Moon assume that if the fountain does exist, it is a symbol of each of their gods' understanding the beings of this plane are worthy of life.

Historical Basis

There are stories of people wandering the lands to the west and coming back years later the same age they were, with extraordinary stories of a "Paradise of the Plane" that they were allowed to partake of. Historians are skeptical with the factual basis of these accounts, on the basis that none who made the accounts could accurately guide expeditions to discover this paradise, and many who "came back" were later arrested for petty theft and often were associated with con artists and thieving guilds.

Spread

This myth has been propagated across the entire plane

Variations & Mutation

Some believe the Fountain to be a curse, that any who drink from it are made to suffer forever without ever being able to die.
