The Well of Youth

Do not crave your lost youth   The sorcerer who cliamed a heart of gold   has one of pyrite I tell you   His blessed well is a curse!   Do not drink from his well   Do not reclaim your youth.   All magic has its price.
-- The words of an ignored wise woman

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The well is simple. A bucket is attached by rope to a pole that sits horizontally on the well. This pole has a handle that turns to wind up the rope to move the bucket up and down the well.   Anytime someone drank from the Well of Youth, the area around the well would wither and die, spreading out in a circular pattern. Along with that, the well has some kind of sentiance to it, and so it must consume in order the survive, which is why the Line of Decay moves ever so slowly.   The people who drink become youthful once again.

Manufacturing process

Stones must be brought to the Temple of The First Ones. Then, at midnight when the specters come out to play, they will notice the stone and infuse them with something (some think it's magic, other's think it's one of the spectres). Clay is used to hold the whole well together.

Significance

This is a fabled well that was created by a sorcerer named Hjall Vord who claimed it would make the local towns people immortal youths. There were few that were against this well's magic, but the majority of the town refused to listen to them, thus resulting in the town's decay.   So many people intially drank from the well that their regained youth was short lived. It was a blast of decay that consumed eveything within the town. About half the town managed to escape, with a small portion having their regained youth.
