The Amber Provinces

It is the year 1520M, or 1520 years after the greatest city that ever was - Mercer, fell to demonic invasion. The once lush forests and fields at the center of Easteriel are now known as the Scorched Wastes. The Age of Heroes has long since past, the mighty champions who once roamed this world have all tested their mettle against the demons, and lost.   Only a few with the will and strength to fight back yet live, and as more and more abominations pour out of the portal in the Scorched Wastes, a desperate resistance attempts to keep them from flooding the civilized world. The mighty Archangel Ragathiel sows the seeds of his religion upon the land in an attempt to stem the tide of demons, and more citizens are conscripted every day to hold the demons back at Mercer Pass.   The civilized world continues on, as it always has. The Human and Dwarven Kings, and the Elven Council do their best to impose order as criminal organisations continue to thrive from the seeds of anarchy sown by the demons. Little do they know that without the use of a very well kept magical secret known as the Aegis, this world will surely succumb to the demonic hordes.
