Dythea Hynsunn

A practitioner of hedge magic hailing from an uncontacted pre-industrial world. Snatched away by Zurvan to participate in the Eternal Tournament, Dythea was one of the founding members of the Magicians' Guild - and one of the architects of The Usurper's attempt on Zurvan's life.
Following the dissolution of Zurvan's tournament, Dythea joined the Hedron  crew as a healer and scholar.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

The bronze-colored mineral growths sprouting from Dythea's skin are a symptom of a chronic illness taken upon herself through her sympathic magic. When the discovery of the planar system allowed her the opportunity to trade it away, she chose to keep the scales "as a reminder."

Body Features

Dythea's people are similar to amphibious salamanders, though they spend little time in the water once reaching adulthood. The fronds on her head, neck, and joints assist in the exchange and retention of body heat, and her people dress to leave most of them uncovered. The outward-facing surfaces of Dythea's extremities have significantly thicker skin, almost callus-like, as a defensive adaptation against early predators.

Special abilities

Dythea's magical "gift" is the ability to abstractly transfer harm from others unto herself, and presumably vice-versa. Use of this power made Dythea an accomplished healer, but it took a deep physical toll that has left lasting scars.

Personal history

Before being kidnapped by Zurvan, Dythea was instrumental in her cadre's discovery of their world's planar system, and how to bargain with the  entities encountered on the other side. Magic slowly began to find acceptance among those without "gifts," and her cadre was on the cusp of becoming a proper school of magic. What transpired after her disappearance is unknown.
