Session 8: Saving and Selling Souls

General Summary

While in attendance at a masked ball held at the Vathicus City Hall, you listened to James Calico’s speech, a convincing ramble about his favourite opera, La Farfalla Morta, his motto – to never stop dreaming, and an alliance between his corporation and the city council to distribute fairytale more widely than ever before. During a less compelling speech by the Honourable Charles Bloombridge, alleged member of the Twilight Council, a woman in a butterfly mask approached you and requested your help in the wine cellar. As she hurried away, she collapsed, poisoned by a bright green drink that spilled, pooling with blood, on the ballroom floor. You warned several people in attendance, including Captain Quain and her daughter, Petunia. You snuck into the wine cellar, down a long hall lined with alcohol, and defeated an enormous spider, made of flesh and steel, guarding a spark crawling along a wick towards the largest barrel. After a moral dilemma, you decided to prevent the combustion of the city hall. The party also found the office of Charles Bloombridge, just behind the wine cellar.   After saving a large number of important individuals, you were firmly by Calico requested to leave. You then went to Once Upon a Time, a very shady bar, where Morres gambled his soul away. Despite a mandatory quarantine of 24 hours, you snuck out the window of Once Upon a Time and into the dark bathhouse next door. There you took some time to relax, and, while there, stumbled upon an intimate moment between Lysander Lovegrove and Estelle Trent. The two confronted you and told you that things are bigger and more complex than they seem. Connor likewise confronted Estelle. You gathered that they had some part in the bombing and perhaps some in the poisoning as well. You also discovered that there is a possibility you have been poisoned. Sneaking back into your rooms at Once Upon a Time, you settled into bed.
