Session 23: What Has and What Will Be

General Summary

Making your way through the winding pathways of The Bailey, you entered Heaven’s Kitchen, an enormous warehouse-like space full of decaying businesses, people, and homes. Uncared for by the sectechs, only the Sunnytimes Coffeehouse and the Downer Diner still operate there. Between the two restaurants, you greeted the figure you believed to be Marlo, who gave Marcus a letter, and then asked for the leader of the group – Marcus offered himself and Marlo gave him another letter. This one just reads ‘Vincenzo sends his regards.’ The mysterious hooded figure stabbed Marcus and a fight ensued, joined by Watchward Bozan and two other watchwards, all of whom were killed. Using the waitress of the Sunnytimes Coffeehouse as a human shield, the hooded watchward got away. But not before her throat was slit, due partly to Lestie’s impudence.
During the battle, you were introduced to Luda, a masked patron of the coffeehouse, who threw in a few helpful eldritch blasts. Luda showed you into the coffeehouse and you tended to the waitress, Vanya’s, wounds. You went upstairs to Luda’s ramshackle apartment, and read the letter, from Baptiste, who invited Lestie to dinner at the Shining Serpent that evening. Vanya asked the party for their help dealing with some vandalism, and Luda found an unreadable note under one of the tables.
Promising Vanya you’d help her, you went to have your fortunes read by Lev. His visions, created from pink smoke, depicted a variety of tragic incidents for each of you, though their meanings were not wholly understandable. You sat outside, trying to interpret your visions, in the late-midday busy-ness of the Tawny Treads.
