Session 17: To Find Forbidden Fruit

General Summary

In the topsy-turvy dimension of Anosok, you found yourselves headed to the Cornucopia, the tall golden tower home to the realm’s overlord, Mordeo. On the way, you met a kind woman who gave you some toffee apples, which Harket indulged in. You talked to the guards at the Cornucopia, Jeremiah and Stefan, before heading up the stairs. As you climbed, Olechka talked to Holofernes, an old gnome and part of the realm’s wizened council.
In the Cornucopia’s penthouse equivalent, you were introduced to Mordeo, a mocking, grotesque figure, and his charming aide-de-camp, Psyche. There you learnt of a riddle prophesised to tell of the forbidden food which Mordeo must eat if he wished to leave Anosok. You informed him that you’d help, in order to escape the dimension yourselves, and headed for the wizened council and their library.
In an ugly yellow building, you met the wizened council, a group of old wizards gathered around a round table. Olechka applied for a position amongst their ranks, and Holofernes showed you to their library. In exchange for one book each, you agreed to clean and organise the messy towers of volumes that inhabited the old library. After fighting some dust mephits, you completed your task and claimed your books, as well as the knowledge of some old lore, the details of Mordeo’s attempted poisoning of Ulysses and his subsequent banishment. You headed back to the cornucopia, purchasing a Bundt pan on the way, inspired by the recipes of Juliet Enfant.
