Session 16: The Upside Down
General Summary
"You know the first time you made a Victoria spongecake?" - OlechkaYou recuperated from the fight against Governor LaRue and her henchpeople. Varis plundered the bodies, and outside, Morres decided to consume the entombed soul of his uncle, Lucius, and collapsed to the ground. Nearby, Marcus O’Connor, human paladin, having heard the commotion, carried Morres inside. The party, now joined by Marcus, and begrudgingly Lucille LaRue, fell asleep. In the morning, the party decided to go through the portal beneath the bar, though Lubek warned them that no one had returned from the topsy-turvy domain, Anosok, as of late. Lestie spoke to Kips back at La Cage Bizarre, telling Kips that she’ll learn to read, and they each promised to be there for each other like family is meant to be. Kips told Lestie she’d write to her, and left to find Sven Davisson. The party said goodbye to Connor, as his makeshift coffin, a sailboat, travelled across and over the horizon. They returned to La Cage Bizarre and crawled through the shimmering portal. Immediately, Lestie was transformed into a lanky, glasses-wearing woman, highlighting the strangely upside down nature of Anosok. You found yourselves in a beautiful rooftop restaurant, served by platinum-haired waiters and waitresses. Varis, Morres, and Marcus ate, but Lestie and Olechka managed to deceive the staff. Morres found that if he focused hard enough, he could manifest an object of his desire. Entering the building below through a trapdoor, the party found themselves in the Vortex hotel, where they searched for Dusty, Bunty (Lubek’s daughter) and Dr Cleora, to no avail. The robot hotel managers, Topsy and Turvy, told the party they’d seen Dusty taken down the road, accompanied by a pink robot named Earl, OR a blue robot named Cherry, according to each hotel manager, who both fell utterly in love with their respective robots. With this confusing report in mind, the party set off down the road towards ‘The Cornucopia’, the home of the realm’s lord. Having just said a hurried goodbye to an enamoured woman walking in the opposite direction, the party, Harket, Morres, Varis, Lestie, Olechka, and now, Marcus, stand in the spiralling cobble street.
