What is a Magna?
Definition according to the Outside: A sovereign or monarch; a person who holds by life tenure, and usually by hereditary right, the chief authority over a country and people.
Definition according to the Inside: A sovereign or monarch (so far so similar a person who holds by life tenure, and usually by hereditary right (the hereditary right remains important on the Inside as well), the chief authority over a country (Magnas have authority over elements of the Aerth, each has their own dominion).
Magnas have all been human, so far, and are followed by the power-filled Gobbets as they break from the Great Light at night. A concentration of glowing Gobbet in the night sky is seen as a sure sign of a Magna in that area.
Magnas can have dominion over lesser bits but there are always the Terra Magna (Land), Atmos Magna (Air), Aevus Magna (Time), Ignis Magna (Fire) and an Aquae Magna (Water) in place. These are the common rulers of the Aerth and by their decrees all citizens are affected because the world they live on is affected.
Qualifications
Same family as prior Magna. Gobbets must choose/come to them.
Duties
If tragedy strikes, the Magna must attend.
Responsibilities
To manage the affairs of their domain. Each Magna will have very different responsibilities than the next but the main point is to hold back the disaster life can be if left unchecked.
