Ideals

Gender Ideals

Men are expected to be hunters or craftsmen. Women tend to be caregivers as well as shamans or fortunetellers. Positions of authority can be held by both and all are expected to train in combat prowess.

Courtship Ideals

Matchmaking is done by pairing a man and a woman together to go on a hunt for a predatory creature. The hunt takes as long as necessary. This is designed to test the ability of the two to work together and overcome challenges both trivial and life threatening. When the two have successfully tracked and killed the creature the man and the woman both remove an eye from the creature and offer it to the other as a way of saying that they will look out for one another. If one of the two dies, it was never meant to be.

Relationship Ideals

Marriage is as much a contest as it is a partnership.

Major organizations

Kuhatis are divided between multiple clans who share the same ethnic origins but claim different parts of the Winding Scar.
