Thar'kor

Tha'kor is a dark fantasy world. A far spanning continent divided by a central glacial ridge across a large mountain range separates this continent from northern and southern hemispheres.   The adventure begins in the year 937 post imperial age.   The continent has been torn asunder by a war of epic proportions between the forces of good and evil. in the year 934 post imperial age (PIA) the allied forces of the Human, Dwarven, Halfling and Elven kingdoms across the continent took arms against a great evil that threatened to dominate or destroy all life in Tha'kor.   Under the banner of the High King Es'ante, a charismatic human regent who rallied the realm to unite, a massive force of 100,000 warriors took stand against the forces of evil. A merciless battle ensued, with terrible losses on both sides. Es'ante and his generals fought to the last to ensure they struck a fatal blow to their enemy and destroyed the leader of the evil horde. The tide of battle turned in Es'ante's favour and the hordes ranks broke and fled before them. As victory was in grasp the enemy commander unleashed a final devastating blow with its passing breath. As the death blow was struck a cursed magic burst forth tearing through the remaining forces of Es'ante's battalions. Those who survived the battle, thought to be only in the hundreds, were cursed with a magical amnesia and scattered across the furthest reaches of the continent. Despite this curse a victory was won. Lacking the unifying presence of the evil commander the remaining ranks of the horde descended into panicked chaos and fled in open retreat, returning to the dark holes and hovels from which they first emerged, awaiting the return of a power that could lead them to dominate the world again.   Those who survive the battle can no longer recall the evil commander in name, description or anything about its rule, powers or history. They know that a powerful evil led a horde to war and they fought against it but cannot remember the outcome. Many find themselves far away from their homelands in strange countries they have not heard of, some arrived alone others in groups. All are on journeys to find their way home and find out what happened to the forces of good and evil in the land.
