Thalass

Across the many material planes that dot the cosmic sea. In the myths and religions that people share to explain and give reasoning to the world. There has always been one story that has remained consistent. That is the story of the great flood.   In all myths, religions, and other abstract faiths the tale of a great flood that washed the land clean and allowed for a fresh start. However, in the realm of Thalass this is not just a story but is the reality of this realm. In an age lost to history, at a time now forgotten, and for a reason perhaps unrecoverable, Thalass was consumed by a great flood. This flood left the realm forever changed. What was once a realm with bountiful swaths of land, lush and filled with life, was now drowned in a torrent with only the peaks of mountains acting as the last bastions of the world before.   It is here that we find ourselves, rarely any land to see for miles and miles, surrounded by nothing but the deep. The cultures and races that have survived the great flood, now fully adapted to their new way of life, have begun to thrive once again. However, with all the progress that has been made the dark and foreboding depths act as constant reminders of the uncertainty that everyone fears. Very few know what now lies near and at the bottom of the great ocean and the rumors that come from those few brave enough to attempt exploration can send chills down the spines of the most veteran sailors.   This world is old, very old, and yet young at the same time. For all the mystery and unknown stories of what happened before the great flood, there is still progression. The realm has continued to move forward, those that didn’t perish have adapted. In this world of old lost knowledge but ever developing cultures and political powers, what will you seek? What will you set out to accomplish?
