Texas Republic of Brass and Steel

Founded along the shores of the Gulf of Mexica, between the Red River to the north and Rio Grande to the South, The Republic of Texas seeks to become the next great nation of America. With a great deal of aide from the United States, Texas has found itself now wishing to expand west and find the coast of the Pacific within it's sovereignty. However, the tribes of the Pueblo, Navajo, and Apache have begun to put up resistance. The further west of Austin, Texas's capital, the less law that is found and more dangerous the world becomes. External pressure has began to wear on the nation as a southern threat may push them further towards war.   The western territory finds room for those looking to escape the eye of proper civilization with small mining and cattle communities now taking root. These settlements find themselves free of oversight from the federal government but also lacking many of the benefits the Republic can offer.   This wild west is homes to gangs, Apache raids, the forces of nature, and unscrupulous people more than willing to manipulate the vulnerable for gain.  A great deal of profit is ripe for the taking, be it by being a paragon of virtue or more devious than the next man.
