3rd Shaelathro 2376 AD
After sleeping for the night in Myskral city, we make a plan for where to head to next. We contacted our friends, Cyan and Adrie to see how they are doing and send a message requesting an up date from the crystal hunters on the towers they were investigating for us. Cyan and Adrie were almost finished clearing their tower, but it will be a while before I hear from the Crystal Hunter team.
From Myskral, we take a boat to Emerald City on our way to the next tower near the Mesric Monestary. It's a relatively uneventful trip, though I was able to learn how to fish with my crossbow for Sherriden. Once arriving in Emerald city, we head to Vesper's parent's place to visit, and end up staying the night. I was taught what a pillow fort was, a play house made of pillows and blankets, where we got drunk. Ki'va spent some time trying to contact some people that she knew.
The next day, we packed up and planned to leave for the Monestary. However, we ended up visiting the museum as Ki'va wanted to answer Ashe's question of how her parents were still alive. It turned out that Ki'va's parents are Vetra and Ci'tra, a pair of old, probably immortal, war heros. People who were members of the original Kings lance, specifically, the demon hunter squad, and origin of the Crystal Hunters. While at the museum, Vesper was giving an educated lecture on the history of the Emerald military, when the two of them showed up to see their daughter. Vesper was star struck to say the least. It was also safe to say that our departure for the monestary was postponed to the next day as we ended up at a bar with the two of them. They told stories of their adventures, and Vesper ended up losing in an arm wrestling match against Vetra. Greg also challenged Ci'tra to a mage's dual, though that competition was postponed to the morning, as Ci'tra was too intoxicated to be casting anything. We all ended up surprising Vesper's parents by showing up at their place again, though I think they were more surprised by the two new faces in tow.
The next day, before we left, Greg spectacularly lost to Ci'tra in a mighty display of her explosive magics. After which, we parted ways with the two war heros. Ki'va also decided to stay in Emerald for the time being, to figure out what she herself is going to do now that she has found herself 150 years in the future.
I had partially hoped that she would decide to continue traveling with us, but I understand that some things need to be discovered on your own. I just hope that the elf that owned her old apartment doesn't hold anything against her.
Off on a Expedition
31st of Thari
On our way to Mysreal, we encountered a group of goblins from the church of consuming flames. A violent group who set whatever they can on fire in the name of their god. After dealing with the group, Dearlin has a mental breakdown. It reminded me of myself just after I lost my Mother, and village. A dark place I am glade I got out of. Mostly. Encountering Demons still sets me off into a bit of a rage. We made it to town, and had quite a delicious curry meal. Kai'lai was right, the food here is delicious.
The next morning, we leave fairly early after Mei collected the necessary paperwork. It was a uneventful trip to the tower, where we spent the night on the road. I did get some training with Nyx done, Vesper has been giving him too many treats, and it is starting to show.
In the morning, we approached the tower to discover that the blood lotus are currently occupying the ancient tower. I really do not like these people.
We clear the tower of hostiles. In one of the rooms, there is a giant crystal, with a person shape in it. Turns out it is Ki'va, the women who has invaded our thoughts. Dearlin investigated the tellerian devices, and discovered that the crystal showed up approximately 150 years ago. We free her from her crystal. Afterwards, a group of blood lotus approach the tower and demand that we give them the crystal shard, not quite sure what they are referring to. We sucessfully defend ourselves, and the tower before resting for the evening.

Leaving Illios
30th of Thari
In the morning, we have breakfast and Cyan goes on and on about how great vodka is. Afterwards, I go with Syleran to jewelry shop before retrieving my repaired armor, as he mentioned an interesting item. Thunder Crakin is an interesting shop. The lady running the shop is very friendly. If we are ever in New Illios, we should come back and visit. The new backpack, is very nice, and is great to not have as much weight on my back while walking. I quickly switch everything from one backpack to another, before heading out to the Forcefeild to retrieve my armor. It is all shiny and looks like new. They did a good job with the repairs, even if the prices for upgraded weapons is overpriced.
On the way back to the Inn, for some reason, Kai'lai stops and starts singing. Curious as to why, I turn around and Syleran is gifting Vesper a necklace. I am very confused. Syleran seems to be blushing though, so I suppose he might be telling her his feelings. How cute. Suddenly, There are hearts in the air around them? I blame Kai'lai. I turn back around, and continue into the Inn. We make our way out of town towards Myskral.
Shopping in New Illios
29th of Tharia
After getting into New Illios, we quickly found an inn, with an onsen, much to Dearelin's discharge. Shortly after getting ourselves settled for the night, Vesper, Cyan and I left to go and deal with the logistics of the next portion of our investigation, as Taris has strict policies about outsiders performing investigations within their borders.
After returning, we go relax in the onsen. Syleran proceeds to try and interrogate Dearlin on why he did not say anything about having a voice in his head. After a terrible interrogation, its time to go sleep off the events of the day, leaving Dearlin, Sherriden, Greg and Vesper alone in the bath.
In the morning, we visit a magic shop called Wizard's Mail run by a man named Zymblyss. Kai'lai and some of the others picked up some bags of holding of various colours. Unfortunately he did not have any Armors or weapons that were of interest to Daerlin and I and so suggested another shop, called the Forcefeild for Daerlin and I to find more weapons and armor. He also mentions a jewelry shop by the name of Thunder Crackin for Syleran's search for magic rings.
At Forcefeild, the shop is attached to a blacksmith. We are approached by a human women. She helps us with checking if her shop has the objects that we are looking for. Daerlin is able to pick up some mithril halfplate, and Vesper is able to get and enchant some new armor as well. They lack the types of weapons that I am looking for at a reasonable price however. I do get my armor repaired, best to keep my equipment up. The repairs will be complete in the morning.
After our shopping adventures, we all meet back up at the Inn, where Tsumi Mei and Cyan are waiting for us. We go over our travel plans and are officially hired by Tsumi Mei to guard an archaeological expedition to one of the towers we need to investigate within Taris. We also go over payments for our services. Any scientific or historically important artifacts we find will be going to the university, while any other artifacts will be ours. We will be paid 25g a day, and 50g per day during the actual expedition.
We go relax in the onsen after dinner and discussing our upcoming expedition.
16 Fish and A Mango
28th of Tharia
We set out from our camp outside the Wyrmwood. We seem to be going a bit in circles through the woods. there was that weird roaring chipmunk though. But, this is the Wyrmwood, the place where dragon hatchings live and learn. I expect suck a place would have some weirdness to it.
Eventually, we reach the tower leaking demon ickor. It is surrounded by a mote, as well as local wildlife mutated by the ickor. The mutated crabs don not seem to like magic, as they have targeted Greg and I after we used magic to attack.
After defeating the demons, we investigated the broken pipe that is leaking ickor into the mote surrounding the tower. It appears that the magic barrier surrounding the tower is very deteriorated. And likely, there will be more leak within. We will have to deal with the source of the demon stuff to solve this.
My good friend, and fellow crystal hunter, Cyan, made an appearance just before we entered the tower. Of course, she brought vodka to share. She tells us that a settlement just north of the Wyrmwood has been reporting demon sightings, which is why she is here. Its a good thing that she is here. With the demon ickor leaking, the extra help is probably going to be helpful.
The interior of the building is in a major state of decay. Half of the interior walls are collapsed. The pipes in the ceiling are completely destroyed, leaking demon ickor. According to Daerlin, the main control unit to shut everything down is upstairs.The second floor is overrun with demons. We made short work of them. Though the demons on the 3rd floor proved to be a bit more of a challenge as Kai'Lai went up ahead of the party alone. I followed of course to be sure of her safety, which turned out to be a good thing as there were three large creatures contaminated by the leaking demon ickor. I took quite a few hits from them, and the plant fiend ate me. That was certainly not a pleasent experience. Though we did find some interesting magic items.
After clearing the tower of demon creatures, we then set to fixing and cleaning the tower of demon ickor. It is a slow process, especially the exterior of the tower, as I had to wade through the mote to cleanse it. At least this tower should not cause any more problems for the wyrmwood. After cleansing the mote, Sherridan touches me, and a weird feeling flows over me, and am dragged upstairs back to the control room. A strange foreign voice starts speaking to me in my head, the others called her Ki'va. It is very strange to hear another in my head. Apparently, we are going to try and free her? I am not sure what exactly is going on. There are too many unknowns, and no certainty as to what she is, if she is even a she. Ashe is unsure of this situation.
The weird chipmunk turned out to be the adult dragon watching over the Wyrmwood. (totally called it) His name is Yndriess. He was very much enjoying messing with us. He leads us out of the woods safely to New Illios. I lead the party to the closest inn that looks decent. Much to Daerlin's discontent, it has an onsen, I can't bring myself to care though, I just want to relax, and sleep.
A Day in Mara
27th of Thari
This morning, Daerlin went off, I assume to visit his friend that was resting yesterday, and couldn't take visitors. Kai'lai disappeared after him. I need to replenish my rations, so I head to the market. Vesper needs to go to the market today too, and has tagged along.
At the market, there seems to be something going on. A girl appears to have limped into town, bleeding. From the rumors, and what I can see of her, she has a dragon lineage. She has pure white hair, and some scales along her hairline. I wonder what attacked her. I certainly hope this has nothing to do with the people who kidnapped and experimented on Lyria. If so, Syleran would probably want to hear about this.
Vesper and I helped to make space around her for the healer to attend her wounds. The description of her wounds have the potential to be demonic in nature. If there are demons in the area, I must investigate the situation.
Syleran, closely followed by Adrie and soon after, Greg. Apparently Syleran was on the roof and spotted us. Vesper and I informed them of the situation. Daerlin and Kai'lai appeared during the explanation. Hopefully, the Crystal Hunters can get back to me quickly on potential threats in the area. Syleran went off to deal with some children that seem to have tried to copy him jumping off the roof. At least I do not have to deal with that.
The doctor has returned. Daerlin seems to know her. The child has awoken. Greg and I will go in to talk to her and try to calm her down. As we approach, she looks very skittish. I place Nyx near her to give her something else to focus on. She describes an attack on her village within the Wyrmwood forest. When I ask her to describe the attackers, she switches to a language that I do not understand.
Greg casted a spell, and scared her due to the monsters that attacked her using spells. I ask him to go get Vesper instead, as he scared her and Vesper's draconic lineage might calm her more. It also helps that she know the draconic language. Vesper seems to be able to get the story out of her.
The girl's name is Luminia. Vesper informs us of the situation, and it is definitely demons. The source of the demons is one of the towers we need to investigate. As a Crystal Hunter, I cannot let this be. We will go exterminate the infestation.
Adventure to Mara
26th of Thari
Kai'lai drank the last of her weird potions. She now smells very strongly of fish. I hope it doesn't last very long; while fish do make a good meal, the smell is not as pleasant.
Mai made a dramatic exit during breakfast. She has other assignments to get to. I hope she doesn't get into too much trouble, she was a great travelling companion.
Daerlin's hometown appears to be on our route, but he doesn't seem to want to visit it. Curious. Apparently its that he does not want his parents to meet us. The others are under the impression that Kai'lai is a princess, and now it has lead to them believing that Kai'lai and Daerlin are engaged.
I checked on Daerlin to make sure he was okay. He is not looking forward to us arriving his hometown due being a private person. I can understand that. After all, I also have things I would rather not speak of from the past. He drank the whole bottle of cheap wine I gave him. A drunk Daerlin is interesting; He gagged himself to keep himself from drunkenly talking about his past, according to Kai'lai.
We left Sariel City shortly, heading towards Mara. The journey was uneventful and took a majority of the day.
Mara reminds me of my childhood home. Buildings mixed in among the trees. A perfect place for what it is known for, Druids, and the Druid Circle. Unusually, there appears to be a scare left in the forest by something. Darelin claims bandits.
Daerlin recommends the Hare Tavern for us to stay in. Kai'lai triedto sneak off on her own, only Vesper and Greg did not notice. Probably to try and find Daerlin's family based on his reaction. I hope that she doesn't get herself into trouble, or bring too much trouble to us.
After dinner, Daerlin goes off to visit his parents, Vesper, Syleran and I go find a place to do some training and sparring.
Vesper and Syleran were the first to spar, where Vesper wins most of her matches against Syleran. Vesper's intensity in those matches was surprising. I was expecting Syleran to be victorious. I guess the whisky he had during dinner affected him more that appears.
I sparred against Adrie, and was victorious during a majority of our matches. They were all very close, but pacing myself proved to be an advantage when I went against Vesper next. Again, our matches were close, but not tiring myself out against Adrie allowed me to win. Syleran then went against Adrie. The matches were close, but Adrie was victorious against Syleran. It was more evident Syleran's drunkenness after that.
It was a good training session. After, it was about time to meditate and communicate with my patron. Carya the dryad. It has been a while since I last communicated with her.
A Day in Sariel City
25th of Thari
We have brought the holy relic we were asked to retrieve back to Mr. Sparkles. He informs us that the blood lotus are looking to restart some kind of heart. Currently, they seem to be searching old Illidose for a crystal hidden in a intricate box. They apparently know where the heart is, and have been searching for the towers we have been clearing of hostiles . Are we really sure that these towers are just magic weather controllers?
I don't like the sound of them trying to resurrect the 'heart'. Nothing good can come from this, I will have to make a report on this to the Crystal Hunters.
After handing over the relic in return for information, we decided to go shopping. Greg, Kai'lai, Syleran and I went looking for a magic shop that would have communication pearls. I am getting tired of people disappearing and not having any way to communicate with them. Found a shop called The Rare Owlglass that had 6. There are 8 in our party, but Vesper may have one already due to being part of the military. We will have to make due for now.
The shop was out of most other magical items, but we did get the name of someone along our current route that may be able to provide the items we are looking for; a guy named Nowhere in Illia, a red coloured Teifling who runs a magic shop called The Little Pixie.
Afterwards, met up with the rest of the party at the Skinny Unicorn Inn, and handed out the communication pearls to everyone. Turns out that Daerlin had one already, so we ended up having enough for everyone.
Time for a nice relaxing time in the hot spring, before bed.
