Genevieve's Petalcutter

Genevieve's Petalcutter is a weapon and magical artifact with four distinct forms; saber, bow, dagger, and fan. This weapon was delicate and powerful, capable of delivering quick, powerful blows. It's special ability [Lushous Decay] would create a thick bouquet of flowers when it struck a living being, these flowers would then spread through the body until the root is either completely removed or the body has been completely overgrown. [Lushous Decay] would also apply to the deceased, and as such would often be used in the aftermath of battle as a clean up and restoration effort.   Genevieve was wielded by four different people; Carousel Bellica, Anderin Skim, Terra Brittan Docks, and Hailey Claves. Her requirement for wielding is "Someone with an appreciation for flowers", and as such was difficult to pair with during wartime. Those who wielded the petalcutter would be assigned to the Ashrose Cathaguard, the 'clean-up crew' of the southwestern side of the war.   Genevieve's Petalcutter was last stationed in the Kingdom of Valkarry (Now Idaia), before the cathaguard lost contact during the Grandwall Assault during the Union Secession.

History

Genevieve's Petalcutter is an ancient magic artifact created by Genevieve Lu'raine, a conscripted botanist that was killed in action during the early days of the Union Secession. Even though the soldiers of Yormir were the only ones around to hear her dying words, the field of Spider Lilies that surrounded her artifact tell those that came after of her story.

Significance

Those that were in close proximity to the petalcutter have always remarked on the soft fragrance that emanated from the artifact, more specifically the smell of Spider Lilies. Because of the fact that the Ashroses were most often deployed to devastated cities and villages, many residents have grown fond of both the smell and the presence of flowers. Even after Valkarry was Annexed by the Union, many of its citizens still take care of the multitude of flowerbeds left over from Genevieve's last stand.
