Morian Mooncairn
A cunning rogue who's blades can always find his enemy before his enemy finds him. Morian has a deadly ability to assassinate targets and performs best with the element of surprise. Unfortunately, this often results in him going ahead of the less stealthy members of the party and finding himself alone in perilous situations. Morian understands what it is like to live on the edge of death's door better than any of the other party members and has been pulled from the brink of death on numerous occasions. He is a member of the criminal syndicate known as the Cimmerian Grasp, but recently the Varconian Council has made a tenuous and secret alliance with them after recognizing their power and influence.
Born to the Wood Elves of Baumdorf, Morian's father left for unknown reasons when he was very young. It was not until later in his travels that he discovered his grandfather, Ivelios Mooncairn, once fought against the Hordes of Malberon in the first age a thousand years ago (Elves live a LONG time). Ivelios wielded a powerful ancestral elven weapon known as a Moonblade. Morian's father left to try and obtain this weapon for his personal gain. But the sword deemed him unworthy and he was slain. The moonblade was recovered for Morian to wield, and he was its chosen successor. However, the weapon is functioning at only a fraction of its current strength, and he must now travel into the Feywild and bathe the weapon in dulcet moonlight collected in the lunar basin to restore it to full power.
