The Mahjarrat are an extremely powerful race of demigods, who only came into existence before the Age of Arcanum when deities walked the prime material plane.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Mahjarrat are sustained from the divine energy of their deific parent. With the introduction of the divine gate during the divergence, any Mahjarrat still in existence must spend the majority of their time resting and storing divine energy, and thus are only active for a few months every year. Any use of divine abilities (such as regeneration) greatly depletes their available energy, and thus Mahjarrat are much weaker than they were during the Age of Arcanum.
Mahjarrat can regain a tremendous amount of energy through a sacrifical siphoning of divine creatures (including other Mahjarrat), and there are some cults of mahjarrat which perform regular ritual sacrifices on the weakest or most disliked member of their cult.
