Keepers of the storm

A fanatic group, some will even call a cult, are the followers of Thela – a godlike elemental who control the storms the southern sea. The keepers of the storm believe it is their duty to please Thela’s divine anger and by doing so, they keep the southern sea calm – making trade and travel possible. But sometimes, pleasing this hungry god is not easy… The first mention of the keepers was found in an underwater cave written in Aquan. it dates before the Anorian Callander, and it details the relationship between Thela and the ancient races that dwelt beneath the tides.   Over the years many sailors and other seamen found comfort in her destructive wrath. The Keepers rituals vary, sometimes some food and gold is enough to keep Thela calm, but in extreme circumstances The Calling of Thunder is required. Therefore some may say the Keepers are a cult, but extreme storm require extreme measures. To please Thela, the keepers of the storm take part in a ritual called The Calling of Thunder - it ritual involved the sacrifice of an intelligent being, from cattle to human beings - consumed by the lightning of Thella, in exchange of power, and safe journey across the waves.

Thella

True chaos - Tempest domain Thela, also known as The Eternal Storm, is the goddess of storm and destruction. Thela is said to be a powerful elemental that roams the lands. Most of her followers reside in small islands scattered in the Plunder Islands where she’s said to be most powerful. Nobody knows Thela’s true form but it’s been a subject of numerous speculations. Many believe she takes the form of a grey cloudy storm above the House of the Kraken, others portray her as a beautiful lightning shaped like a silhouette of a young lady.   Thela’s constant battle against other elemental lords is reflected by the change of seasons, Thela and her sister Agatha rule over winter, in eternal battle against the primordials of spring and summer. Her dogma is self-serving, demanding utter obedience from her followers and instructing them to spread her storm wherever they go. Those who choose to follow her path call themselves the Keepers of the Storm.
