Terran Cerst

Terran Cerst is a world formed by old, forgotten deities. It is a world that is home to a variety of races, cultures, animals, plants, and creatures. It houses four different continents: Heldrak, Sinturra, Romelisk, and Fae Ter Nom. Multiple island nations exist as well. The world is still being rebuilt after an event 5 years ago, known as the Moon's Fall. For millenniums, some deities even call Terran Cerst their home, but since the Moon's Fall, the deities can no longer be found and the lack of their presence on Terran Cerst is felt subtlety. Great heroes can be found as well if one knows where to look. None are so revered as the ones from the Moon's Fall; however. The location of those heroes though is a mystery, even to those closest to them. Sightings of these heroes fly where ever one appears in an area, but they never stay too long.   The event of the Moon's Fall changed things on Terran Cerst. The Ley lines that run through the world are still restabilizing themselves. As a result magic use is different now then what it was just 5 years prior. A lot of magic items lost their properties, alchemical and runic systems are having to be relearned by sages and scholars all over the world. New knowledge about spirit creatures have come up as well. Some people find the knowledge almost second nature, while others have no inkling of what it is. In the recent years, necromancy as a whole has gone from looked down upon to strictly illegal. This includes any form of resurrection which has led to the courts and authorities keeping an eye on the churches in various degrees. Some people are calling for the control of all magic and to have anyone practice register with the courts; however, it is a highly debated issue.   Supernatural things are happening on Terran Cerst. Things that even magic has a hard time explaining. The nature of some creatures has changed entirely, while new creatures are being spotted on a monthly basis. Despite most undead being destroyed 5 years ago and the ban on necromancy, undead creatures are still being spotted across the land. Furthermore, the portals to the lower and upper planes have been cut off. Portals to the Far-realm are starting to reopen in some areas as well leading to panic in upper circles. Meanwhile, strange things continue to happen on in even the smallest of cities. Although the reasons for these occurrences are unknown, the popular opinion in many places is that it is due to the deities leaving the world. Critics point out that clerics still hold their power so they have not abandoned Terran Cerst completely. Thoughts and rumors about other worlds in need of help are becoming common place. The people are calling for the heroes of old to reappear and save them once more, but their cries have gone unanswered.
