Terrakin

Enclosed by mountains and a fractured sea, sits the land masses of Terrakin. Humans first settled in Terrakin in the beginning of the second era. They migrated through a gap in the mountains to the east, the mountains themselves cover the northern border. The sea to the south was torn apart at the end of the first era. The lands are too broken to live on, and the waters are too harsh to sail, even for veteran sailors. Three separate continents meet within these borders, leading to a large variety of cultures and geography. The continent to the north is split by the open sea, and travels down into the middle of Terrakin. The central part is a tropical climate with moderate temperature, while the northern parts are freezing tundra dense with mountains and hills. The Open Sea got it's name for having no islands in it at all, a wide open sea. Unlike the sea to the south which is commonly referred to as the Smugglers Sea. Dotted with islands this area is a hot bed for piracy, but it's the most direct path from the continent to the west from the east. The western continent leads into the fractured sea being slit by it. The western most part is covered in a thick swamp that very few humans can survive in. The eastern continent, however, is very hospitable, at least the part in this region. The eastern part of the continent is separated from the western part by the largest desert in the world. They are the leading military presence in the Smugglers Sea. The conflicts that arise here are separate to the rest of the world. From the civil war in the Smugglers Sea, to the fight for the northern throne. The Eastern continent is directly involved in the Smugglers Sea's civil war, while the western continent assists in the form of recourses and transport. The northern continent is full of many different lords and rulers, but all are vying for the central kingdom, now that the emperor is dead, to expand their influence.
