Void Steel

This metal is so black the eye has difficulty looking directly at it, only the edges betray a hint of color resembling an oil slick on water. It is very lightweight and flexible when correctly worked making it ideal for light, comfortable, and beautiful weapons and armor. The source of this metal is a deeply held secret of the elves and only their smiths are capable of forging it.
Items made of void steel are extremely durable and as such do not require as much maintenance, you gain an expertise die when making maintenance checks. Crafting weapons and armor from void steel requires unimaginable skill on the part of the smith, as a result such items are considered one quality level higher (standard becomes fine, fine becomes masterwork).

• Armor: Armor made of void steel does not impose disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks and any Strength requirement requirement is reduced by 2, if reduced below 12 it loses its Strength requirement. Chain shirts made of void steel are surprisingly comfortable and may be worn while sleeping without difficulty.
• Weapons: Weapons made of void steel lose the heavy property, if they have it.
