The Human-Xeno war

The war without an end

A war that has left many planets uninhabitable and milions of people dead. It is still very active and millions are suffering everyday due to desease, famine and executions by both the Xenos and mankind.
There have been several attempts at peace negotiation but all of them have failed with the earliest being only 1 year after the outbreak of the war. There was a time when almost all battles stopped for a signing of a peace treaty between each representative when an explosive was detonated killing every one in the room, both sides blamed the other one for the attack.

The Conflict

Prelude

Ever since mankind first made contact with the Xenos the tensions was always high. Both sides knew there would be a war but noone knew when, everything seemed to have eased a bit. Until March 40 BE the Space Empire of Mankind order its ships to open fire on an enemy convoy, the Xenos would not allow that to go unpunished and declared war immediatly.

Deployment

The humans had about 4000 ships ready with 200 in construction and 300.000.000 soldiers, while the Xenos had a massive 10000 ships ready and an estimated 5.000.000.000 soldiers.

Battlefield

This war is currently fought all over the galaxy both on planets and in space, with the most active front being System 286.

The Engagement

The first battle fought was the battle of System 1047 which was a loss for the humans but they eventualy took it back 2 years later. Most battles are on only on a small scale with around 4 divisions on planets and 20 ships in space but large battles can include entire army groups and fleets of ships fighting for days or months.

Historical Significance

In Literature

There have been tons of stories from first hand perspectives from the battles to the aftermath.  Both sides have also used their victories as propaganda to raise moral and lower the enemies moral.

There have been several advancements in the field of medicin and weaponry due to the war.
