Aurelian

Prince Lucius Aelius Domitius Antoninus Aurelianus Artorius, also known as the Emperor that never was, is a member of House Artorius and is the firstborn son of Emperor Antoninus and the older brother to Princess Camilla. He was heir to the throne due to him being the oldest child of the Emperor but was disinherited after his actions that angered the Artorian court. After his niece ascended to the throne, Aurelian served as a general of the Imperial and close advisor to the Empress. Aurelian appears to have a ravenous sexual appetite is infamous amongst the Empire, as he's left a trail of bastards in his wake. His anti-slavery views and his efforts to emancipate the non-humans of the empire has caused him to butt heads with the nobles, causing him to be hated by the Artorian court.

Personality

Aurelian has always been fierce. He has a fearsome and notorious reputation. Fellow noblemen has described him as "deadly, dangerous, and unpredictable". He is also known to be witty with a sharp tongue and is known to be quite a flirt. He is famous as an accomplished warrior, but he was just as infamous for his sexual appetite, which extends to both men and women. Aurelian has fathered 12 daughters during his lifetime, all with different women, all of whom he has acknowledged and given his love and care.

Above all Aurelian was a deeply passionate man, with a hot temper that often led him into making rash decisions but in equal measure, this also made him deeply loyal to those he cared about, such as his sister, his lovers, and his daughters. Although he was a very serious man, he had a very laid-back, easygoing attitude, taking anything that came his way in his stride, but he wasn't incapable of being deadly serious when the situation insisted upon it.

History

Aurelian is born to Emperor Aelius Hadrianus Antoninus Pius Artorius and Lady Laodice Ceraunus Soter Seleucus, in 15-10- 876 CT, in the city of Seleucia. Making him the first prince that was born outside of the Imperial city. Growing up, Aurelian is known as a whoremonger, sleeping with everyone be it servant, whores or even other nobles. This caused outrage in the court as he is seen as a decadent degenerate who will later bring the Empire to ruin once he inherits it. Aurelian would later be disinherited from the line of succession after he was caught sleeping with the daughter of a dwarven lord and was forced into exile. He would father additional bastard daughters during his exile.
Aurelian would later return to the Imperial city after 8 years of exile, assigned to be the guardian of Farah Artorius, his niece. The two would grow close and Aurelian would stay by his niece's side even during the turbulent time of "the year of the four rulers" where he protected his niece from members of the coup during the massacre of the Artorian imperial family and lead armies against the pretenders to allow his niece to ascend to the throne. After Farah was crowned Empress, Aurelian would briefly serve as a senator but would resign returning into his post as general of the 10th legion.
