The Forest Woman

In the Metisian town of Beeleah there is a tale of a beast of the forest. Stalking into the town at night, it slips into the homes of the good and beautiful and devours them whole, tearing apart anyone in its path. You'll know it's near when the beating scrapes of its claws scrape at your unlocked door or drafty window. You'll know what stalks you when you feel its warm gust of breath on your neck or the wet shock of drool at the foot of your bed. And you'll know your fate is sealed when it growls its hushed growl and you wail your far too late scream.

The Forest Woman is said to have once been a human girl. The beautiful and favored daughter of her mother. A disciplined soldier ready to serve her people. The loyal wife leading her family. The ideal Metisian woman.

But one day she just changed. Turning into a horrible beast, she murdered her mother and ate her. She was unable to control herself. She devoured her husband and children with fanged teeth.

After seeing what she had done, she fled on all fours into the forest, but it was too late. She was too far gone. Forevermore, she hungered for flesh. Restlessly she stalks the woods and towns at night searching for more with a taste for what she once had. The beautiful have a nice flavor to her and a whole family is quite the meal even for a beast such as her. Restless is her body and endless is her urging hunger pangs. If you are not careful, if you step on the wrong twig or wear a potent scent, she may find you as you travel through the forest. And if you don't lock your doors before you sleep, you may not wake to open them again.
