Origin & Source

The metal originates from astroids that landed in the southern hemesphere of Terra-4 roughly around three million years before humanity's arrival.

History & Usage

History

Metisian iron is only found in, well, the Metisian Pennensula where it is extremely plentiful.

"The Dress that Changed the Face of Terrabore"

One legend tells of the material's international significance and Metisian wealth as follows.

After uniting Metis unter a single ruler, Empress Deonna IV was invited to South Guildwelliah for the King Ulrick I's birthday. Intending to make a lasting impression, Deonna IV designed a dress made from small silver plates — at the time silver was Metis' primary export — each ingraved with the names of the cities now under her rule. The silver, however, could not be bought and forged in time and was too expensive, so, Deonna IV was forced to use a cheap more common metal. The kind used for simple tools and weoponry rather that refined artistic craft.

Ulrick I, however, was entranced at first sight of the dress. For he wondered how weathy in this metal was Metis if it was used for formal attire. This is said to be the begining of the Metisian - S. Guidwellian Alliance which would last for the next few centuries.

Everyday use

Historically it has been the go-to material for Metisian tools and weoponry. The oldest surviving artifact made from this material is a spear from the Mati-Hreo'ys region dating back to the 4th millennium BE which was discovered by Keyo Leytisa in 1449 AE. The spear is made in a Hronian style with a spade bottom allowing for the digging of dirt. This suggest that the earliest craftswomen of this material were advanced in earth-type witchcraft.
