Mzudrib

Causes

This affects primarily the Ghurazoids of the mastermind caste, who simultaneously have far too much things to think about and far too many ways to express them - this way they keep many anomalous things that surge out of their unconscious and into their conscious mind, which, by some odd sorcery, begin to manifest in reality. Most people afflicted with this pox happen to be irresponsible practitioners of wizardry who harbour multitudinous paranoias because of the multiple overlapping thought-processes that happen as a result of it. This might be a pathogen or a fungi which takes advantage of this to reproduce.

Symptoms

The carapace begins to grow little tumours with their own bit of brain matter in them, and then they grow legs and detach themselves - this is awfully painful and results in a lot of screaming and ranting and asking grunt slaves to come over and slice those tumours off and perhaps even cauterize them after the stubs are filed away. If they are not disposed of immediately then they will erupt into a strange being with an odd number of legs that skitters around and torments the mastermind which created it, for it is an embodiment of a repressed thought. This being is known as the Mzudrib and possesses, despite its mannerisms and actions canine-level intelligence although it has no soul.   The only good thing about this is that the mastermind will no longer have to think about said idea, because there will be a void in his mind for some time afterwards (unless there are several closely-associated thoughts along with it) unless it swallows the skittering critter whole and alive and digests preferably with a shot of liquor. The same will happen with paranoias, who will begin chiding the mastermind on and on until they are killed.
