    Summary

At the beginning of the world, there was nothing but the land. Barren plains, cold mountains, empty sky and desert sea. Everything was still, until the top of the tallest moutain broke in a colossal explosion of fire and ash.
from the fire came out Mootah, The Tusked and Horned, The First To Live. Mootah was both male and female, and had four powerful arms. As soon as they got out of the fire, they started to walk. And as they walked, plants started to grow in their wake. Grass and moss at first. And as life started to spread, Mootah grew in size until it was as big a moutain and the plants in its wake became bushes and trees and entire forests.
Mootah kept on walking, and swimming, and breathing, bringing life everywhere they went, until the entirety of Terebim was brimming with diverse and fascinating life.
Then, Mootah settled on a moutain and impregnated themself to give birth to five Goblins : two males and three females. And Mootah told them : "My children, I have roamed the lands and sea and filled it with life. Every creature born from my path is unique, but none is Goblin. Go forth, explore, become who you are meant to be. And when you'll come back to me, tell me what it means to be a Goblin."

    /*[TODO : the tales of the pillars]*/

The first girl came back to Mootah, and Mootah talked to her :
"Welcome back, Girl. Tell me who you became"
  • I am Putmuff, and I am a Goblin! I have walked the earth and have done many things. I have learned that nothing can be done without sleeping before and after, and so I take a nap whenever I need it!
  • You shall become the Pillar of Sleep and help your kin in work and in rest."
  • Then, the first boy came back to Mootah, and Mootah talked to him :
"Welcome back, Boy. Tell me who you became"
  • I am Temiss, and I am a Goblin! I have walked the earth and have done many things. I have learned that nothing can be done without eating first, and so I cook and taste everything I find!
  • You shall become the Pillar of Food and help your kin to feed themselves in every situation."
  • Then, the second girl came back to Mootah, and Mootah talked to her :
"Welcome back, Girl. Tell me who you became"
  • I am Tefyr, and I am a Goblin! I have walked the earth and have done many things. I have learned that nothing can be done without having fun, and so I play when I get bored and I work when I enjoy it!
  • You shall become the Pillar of Pleasure and help your kin to live in joy."
  • Then, the second boy came back to Mootah, and Mootah talked to him :
"Welcome back, Boy. Tell me who you became"
  • I am Thitmink, and I am a Goblin! I have walked the earth and have done many things. I have learned that nothing can be done without failing and learning, and so I try many times to learn as much as I can!
  • You shall become the Pillar of Knowledge and help your kin to learn and teach."
  • Finally, the third girl came back to Mootah, and Mootah talked to her :
"Welcome back, Girl. Tell me who you became"
  • I am Tsuka, and I am a Goblin! I have walked the earth and have done many things. I have learned that nothing can be done without guarding ourselves from danger, and so I thicken my skin and fight with fierce!
  • You shall become the Pillar of Protection and help your kin be safe from harm."
  • Since they were all reborn as Goblins and reunited, they celebrated for two nights and one day, taking naps, eating and having fun all together.
After the celebration, the goblins asked Mootah : What should we do now ?
And Mootah answered : "This world is yours to explore, and you are free to do it however you want. It is a vast and dangerous world, but together you are stronger. I shall grant you a piece of my powers so you can multiply and make this world your home.
To you, Temiss and Thitmink, I will give the tip of my horns, and with it the power to inspire life.
To you, Putmuff and Tefyr, I will give a drop of my blood, and with it the power to nourrish life.
To you, Tsuka, the tall and brave, I will the tip of my tusks and with it the power to create life.   And so was created the Primal Pack, the first pack of Goblins. They grew together and made the first city. They had many Greenlings, who become strong and curious goblins and made their own packs.   When the time came for the first pack to leave the physical world, Mootah welcomed them in their arms. They now help Mootah looking over all of their children, deciding who will get the duty of the Tusked to keep on multiplying and protecting themselves from harm. In time of dire need, when their childrens are in danger, they will come back to help and guide them to success.

    Historical Basis

When Goblins first encountered Elsketts, they were quick to understand the link between them and Mootah   Elsketts are great adventurers and can be very tall, especially compared to Goblins. It is believed that the first Goblins encountered an Elskett and were so impressed by them that they believed it was their God.

    Spread

Extremely widespread among Goblins, the vast majority are followers of Mootah.
Only a few don't believe in it, most of them think that Mootah was just an Elskett and the Primal Pack was just some goblin ancestor. While they respect them as individual who most probably helped organise goblin's society, they don't think they should be reverred as gods.
Atheist are extremely rare though, most Goblins who don't believe in Mootah follow the Elskett's religion.

    Cultural Reception

It is central to Goblin's society and culture
