Pontifilico

The island of pontefilico lends its name to the capital sized city that was transported here during the convergence. The city originated somewhere south of what is now known as Tenzia, a warm sunny climate. Their new location caused huge issues for the inhabitants of the city, since the climate here was near arctic. Within a day the waterways that replaced most roads were frozen solid and the people and architecture were not build for this weather, though these days they are better adapted. Now the city has become a hub for all kinds of faiths and many pilgrims make their way to its frozen streets each year. The population of the island is split between 3 main races, the humans of the city pontefilico, the dwarves of the coast and highlands and the goliaths of the ancestral isles. There is a lot of imbalance between the inhabitants however. The humans, in their attempt to make their city hospitable again, have claimed a lot of land and largely enslaved the goliaths of the isles. The goliaths are a strong and proud people that are deeply connected to their culture and their honour. However, this changed when the humans from the city came looking for resources and instead found an able-bodied people who were ever so willing to help. The goliaths weren’t the cleverest of people and were quickly tricked and subdued into slavery. Most of them still live on the isles but in open captivity, the strongest being drafted each year. The dwarves were also forced out of their ancestral homes by the flood and have taken to either the highlands or the coasts. The high dwarves as people call them are generally peaceful and secluded. They just want to continue living like the old days and to reclaim their old homes. They mostly try to avoid the others but run into humans and sea dwarves more and more frequently, which results in conflict most of the time. The other half of the dwarves embraced the new and set out to live by the sea and find a new life there. They built boats and took what they needed from the sea, sometimes with force.
