Dragonborn
Dragonborn were a race created from the strange effects of the High Moon, with dragons who hatch upon the days being mutated into humanoid forms. They come in all different colors, including every color of chromatic and metallic dragon, with the occasional Gemstone Dragonborn as well. After the first births, Dragonborn were creatures proud of their lineage. Despite being defects, Dragonborn are still capable of breeding, giving mammalian birth to their young. Dragonborn, however, have a longstanding hierarchy between those who have tails and those who do not.
Those who don't have tails are known as Ravenites. The Ravenites were originally Dragonborn who were forced into a life of servitude to the Dragonborn. The Dragonborn would remove the tails of their slaves in order to ensure that none would mistake a slave for a Dragonborn. If a Ravenite were to have a child, their child would also have their tail removed in order to ensure that they are also slaves. The Ravenites, over hundreds of years of suffering, eventually evolved to not have tails whatsoever, since it increased the survival rate of their young.
Additionally, there is a race of Half-Dragonborn known as Draconbloods. These are a race of Dragonborn who originally were bred with Drow Elves, but resided upon the surface after space became limited. They rarely live alone, often in Human or Dwarvish settlements, since they tend to be liked by all. There are even some who still reside with their Dragonborn brethren, but they often are a minority among the people they live with.
