Biodysulphite

Biodysulphite, BSS19 or just "Sulphite" is a type of crystal rarely found on hot planets like Apolliona, the element itself is toxic to most lifeforms but in its crystalized form the toxicity is much less present. This toxicity commonly makes it an item of interest from most nations militaries, however its rarity and exclusivity to Apolliona and other hot planets keeps it from falling into the wrong hands.   Weapons like the RSBT missile system use a small amount of BSS19 to increase explosivity, Sulphite-tipped warheads usually explode violently when hitting targets making them incredibly effective in battle. Biodysulphite was discovered in 2319 AN by Fabien scientists, the material was quickly discovered in large amounts on other regions of Apolliona.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Biodysulphate is commonly seen as bright green flashing crystal, flashing at an interval of around 5 seconds between flashes.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Sulphate is toxic to most lifeforms, resulting in infection and in extreme cases death. The element is also highly reactive, exploding if even the slightest bit of force is applied.

Compounds

Sulphate is used sometimes in spacecraft cannon warheads, the element is used mostly in weapons because its reactivity.

Geology & Geography

BSS19 can only be found on the planet of Apolliona though, it usually appears pretty close to the surface. A rare variant of the crystal has the ability to regrow allowing for "Sulphite Farms".

History & Usage

History

Biodysulphite was discovered in 2319 AN by Fabien scientists, the material was quickly discovered in large amounts on other regions of Apolliona. Nomadian engineers were the ones who figured out how to apply the element to warheads for extra explosivity.

Discovery

BSS19 Was discovered in 2319 AN by Fabia, The application for war was discovered by Nomadia

Industrial Use

BSS19 is used in warheads utilised by space navies, it can also be used in industrial pesticide. Some equipment also requires the element for power.

Hazards

Biodysulphite is toxic and really dangerous, it is also extremely reactive and can lead to violent explosions.

Distribution

Trade & Market

An exotic crystal to some, a deadly mass-destruction-weapon to others. Fabia is the only producer and exporter of the material, though trade is heavily regulated.

Storage

Sulphate is safest to store at colder temperatures to prevent accidental detonation.

Law & Regulation

Fabia law states that any purchase of the element must be approved by a government official, only other diplomats from other countries are allowed to buy the material.
