Arden's Folly - Game

Arden's Folly is a board game played across Nevandros that simulates the climbing of Arden's Folly, a notoriously difficult to climb cliff-face found in the Nevis Range. The game is based on the popular folk tale surrounding Arden's Fall ; a tale of an adventuring party, led by the legendary outlaw Arden the Red, who fell to their deaths climbing the cliff-face in an attempt to retrieve the lost treasure of Thelion the Mad (see Thelion's Greed ).
  Objective of the game:
The objective of the game is to climb to the top of the cliff face and collect the treasure.   Players:
2-5 players can play Arden's Folly.   Equipment:
Game board of a simulated cliff face
Game pieces representing climbers
A set of cards with positive or negative outcomes
Dice (two d4s)
  Setup:
Players choose their game pieces and place them at the bottom of the cliff face. Shuffle the deck of cards and place them near the board.   Gameplay:
All players begin the game by placing an equal amout of coin in what is called the 'Treasure Chest'.
Players determine the play order by rolling dice, the highest number going first.
Players then begin to take turns rolling the dice and moving their game piece along the cliff face. Each turn, players must roll the dice and move their game piece a number of spaces equal to the dice roll. Players can choose to move their pieces upwards, downwards, left or right but they cannot move onto a space occupied by another player and they must use the full number of movement spaces they have rolled on their dice.
When a player reaches one of many specific points on the board (either through passing over the space or stopping on it), they draw a card from the deck. Cards can have positive or negative outcomes, such as "find a shortcut and move ahead two spaces" or "lose your footing and move back one space." Players must follow the instructions on the card they draw.
The first player to reach the top of the cliff face wins the game and collects the coin from within the Treasure Chest.
