Dwarf (Duergar)

Basic Information

Anatomy

Duergar Resilience.
Duergar have advantage on saving throws against poison, and they have resistance against poison damage. They also have advantage on saving throws against illusions and against being charmed or paralyzed.   Sunlight Sensitivity.
Duergar have disadvantage on attack rolls and Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight when they, the target of your attack, or whatever they are trying to perceive is in direct sunlight.  

Racial Skills

  Dwarven Combat Training.
Duergar have proficiency with the battleaxe, handaxe, light hammer, and warhammer.   Tool Proficiency.
Duergar are typically proficiency with one of the following forms of artisan's tools: Smith's tools, brewer's supplies, or mason's tools.   Stonecunning.
Whenever Duergar make an Intelligence (History) check related to the origin of stonework, they are considered proficient in the History skill and add double their proficiency bonus to the check, instead of their normal proficiency bonus.   Duergar Magic.
With some experience Duergar can cast the Enlarge/Reduce spell on themselves once with this trait, using only the spell's enlarge option. Veterans can cast the Invisibility spell on themselves once with this trait. They don't need material components for either spell, and they can't cast them while in direct sunlight, although sunlight has no effect on them once cast.

Biological Traits

Dwarves stand between 4 and 5 feet tall and average about 150 pounds.

Growth Rate & Stages

Dwarves mature at the same rate as humans, but they're considered young until they reach the age of 50. On average, they live about 350 years.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

The largest populations of Duergar reside in two primary regions. The free Duergar reside beneath the Continental mountains in eastern Latavisum. The other group is enslaved by the Drow in the eastern mountains. Other communities have established towns and cities throughout the underdark.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Accustomed to life underground, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 120 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
