Time of the Hand

The World, broken into a handful of continents, is in peril. Telluris Manus is a world, equivocal to that a the Earth, but fantastically different wild life and custom. This world was one home to the brightest and strongest of empires, brimming with different forms of intelligent life, all of which have been seen before - but in different light - such as Orcs, Elves, Dwarves, Vampires, Werewolves, and most unsurprisingly, Humans. The major empires that controlled the few continents warred occasionally; but maintained an aura of tense and strained diplomacy for the decades before cataclysm.   The empires relied on ancient discoveries to maintain their martial power, besides the technological advances they have already made (Cannons, crossbow, rifles have yet to see military service) Ruins across the world are scoured for ancient technologies and texts, leading several nations to hire scores of explorers, scientists, witches, and wizards to clear the ruins that hold treasures worth their weight in gold, or just gold itself.   The Time of the Hand has begun, the Age of Creation has been brought to an abrupt halt by the Clausa Manus.
