The Mezaloth Coven
Pronounced (Mezz-A-loTH)
The hags three are a powerful geopolitical and physically dominating force. Made up of Agatha, Herra, and Ethal they have lived for thousands of years and collected history and artifacts throughout their life.
Willing to make deals and trade for the visions they see of the future when they sleep they are also inherently evil and often utilize those deals and visions to inflict great pain upon others. Instrumental in the events that lead to the Cataclysm the changes in history wrought by the coven are incalculable.
Able to manipulate the dreams of other creatures they often utilize the tactic to present "visions" to their prey often convincing the prey to seek them out in some way. Incredibly smart (INT 17), well spoken (CHA 18), and tactical (WIS 16) they hags machinations have caused geopolitical and physical shifts to the lands around them. What reason Nix, God of the Void had for creating them is unknown but if it was to bring suffering and pain upon mortal kind, they have succeeded.
Structure
The Hags are mostly democratic in their dealings with each other. Any decision that at least two make the other is generally willing to follow. Each Hag is self serving but nearly always willing to work with the group knowing that together they are stronger and much more likely to achieve their goals.
Culture
A nearly desperate desire for history and ancient artifacts plague the Dusk Hags. Able to see into the future in their dreams they often see visions of upcoming large events. The hags know that the future is not set in stone and have leveraged those events for their own gain. Having lived for thousands of years they are not impatient and willing to take their time to gather or find the next bit of information.
On multiple occasions they have spent years having infiltrated a group, organization, or religion to gather their secrets or steal a prized artifact. Able to step outside their evil nature they have even been found to actually help individuals if it ultimately furthers their end goal. The supposed help does however often have a strange way to end up causing more misery or pain to the recipient however.
Public Agenda
The hags in locations where they are known are considered brokers of information. Willing to make dark deals and pacts in exchange for the visions they have gleaned in their dreams.
Assets
The hags of over they course of centuries amassed considerable wealth. The assets are in tangible artifacts, items, and gold but also include lucrative plots of land, leadership in secret societies, and many favors owed by powerful individuals across Telduria.
The hags have a great memory (int 17) and keep logs within the bag of holding that Agatha keeps on her person. As a result utilizing the message, divination, and dream spells they are able to speak with and check up on their various underlings and keep the properties and organizations they control in check.
The majority of their direct physical wealth (Gold, Gems, Magical Items) is stored in their lair that is nestled in the Aderoth mountains within the Saphire Assembly.
History
6757 EW Created when the great golden comet imparted great magics within Telduria. A coven of green hags were consumed by a ritual and cast into the astral sea. Encountering Nix, God of the Void they were granted gifts and told to seek the history of the world.
10068 EW The hags knew of the upcoming destruction of the Dragon Council and were able to steal many magical items and two dragon eggs.
1 GA the hags are aware that the great golden dragon that "survived" the destruction of the council is in fact an imposter god. Realizing the danger of the knowledge they possess they go into hiding within a desecrated tomb.
1998 GA Herra is summoned by Marcus and his companions utilizing the "gate" spell they demand information about the imposter gods. Herra makes a deal with Marcus eventually leading to the destruction of his friends (And the cataclysm when the pillar of ascension is destroyed by a sphere of annihilation) and his eventual decent into madness. Herra was transported into the "recall realm" by the ring of the prophet and gave a false name to the entity there.
In a final act of defiance Marcus sacrifices himself to lock away within the archives of Toravald Hall. Breaking his staff of the magi Marcus does three things. 1. Prevents divination into the hall 2. curses the ring "Any that wield the ring will find the things they most want constantly slipping from their grasp" 3. curses Oolia *then going by Olivia* trapping her essence within a magical weapon. Upon realizing they are locked away from the ring and the curse placed upon it the hags bide their time and keep an eye routinely checking if they can again divine upon the ring.
