A world in which 5% of humanity possesses extraordinary physical and intellectual superiority as well as energy manipulation powers (think Green Lantern) by way of having a connection to the Thunderstorm, an otherworldly, extradimensional energy force that most know as electricity. This 5%, known as Thyrians after their destroyed home city, pull the strings behind the greater world, which they call the Mundane World, with its powerless, inferior humans, all while enjoying a technological advancement three centuries beyond what the greater world possesses. Selfish, arrogant, and beyond all else secretive, these Thyrians control everything on planet Earth from one of seven major City-States, and have established their own world-within-a-greater-world society away from the Idiots' society. And in the Phoenix School for Higher Learning, one of seven Thyrian schools designed to teach young Thyrians to control and focus their immense powers, a young boy, Joe Valeski , finds that the world is not at all what it seems...
