Crystals

Every person at the age of 10 are exposed to the crystal version of an element everyone has some connection to some element and each person has their own unique view on their element and at least one ability based on the element and their views on it. It is possible to gain new abilities as you explore the understanding of your element.
Grater Elements: space which is strong against protection which is strong against destruction which is strong against light which is strong against dark which is strong against void which is strong against space
Mid Level elements Ice (stability) which is weak against magma (gluttony) which is weak against technology (systems) which is weak against humanity (logic/emotion/soul) which is weak against tornadoes (upheaval) which is weak against mountains (fixtures) which is weak against ice
Lesser elements: earth (tradition) which is strong against water (change) which is strong against fire (willpower) which is strong against metal (tools) which is strong against blood (life) which is strong against air (travel) which is strong against earth
Combined elements: water plus Ice plus Space equals mirror which is strong against fire plus magma plus darkness which equals sins and is strong against earth plus Mountain plus Destruction which equals time and is strong against air plus tornadoes plus void which equals the music and is strong against blood plus humanity plus Protection which equals the veil and is strong against metal plus technology plus light which equals the rules and is strong against mirror
Most beginners need to have a gem when they want to use their abilities though over time they slowly can use a percent of their abilities without it and eventually they can use their ability to the fullest. Most weapons have one even though it makes the weapon more expensive each element has its own gem the gems aren’t found naturally and their creation is a closely guarded secret of the wizard guild. When someone uses an ability of your element against you depending on who’s stronger and a tiny bit of a battle of wills the ability is either super effective or you absorb the power used for the ability.
