Torra Kullar

A dry wind carries shards of sand through the alleyways of Torra Kullar, which bite and scratch at your skin as your hand reaches up to your scarf up your face. Distantly, the yells of a merchant having his wears loaded into a caravan can be heard. You continue on your way, avoiding the main streets and making sure your face is covered at all times until you feel it. A soothing cold that drifts out of nowhere, only briefly making its way through your hair and over the beads of sweat on your scalp. You're close, and it wouldn't be long until you had your answers...

Government

The government is led by a family of wealthy merchants and a sort of council of other merchants whose wealth permits them to engage in politics. Ultimately, the wealthiest family has the most say in matters of government, and the constant struggle to take that spot drives many to murder, intrigue, and exploitation.

Industry & Trade

Leatherworking is the only major industry that the Einherjar have and do themselves. Agriculture takes a distant second place, as it is often not something that they see value in. The food often spoils on the long trips through the desert, and so they see farming as a waste of time. More money is made on buying and selling other products than anything else, and so much more importance is put on those roles.

History

When the Einherjar arrived in Tarrorah, they were faced with an unforgiving desert landscape unlike anything they had ever seen before. It was weeks of narrow survival before they arrived in the city formerly known as Kuru Tepeler, jewel of the tabaxi trade empire. No longer the radiant city it once was, the only inhabitants were squatters living in horrible poverty and the occasional small nomadic tribe.   It took quite some time for them to become comfortable in their new home and to adapt to their surroundings, but their experience in the tundras of their home made them incredibly resourceful. Trade with the nomads who came through quickly made them quite wealthy, as their ability to tan and work leather was beyond anything anyone else was able to produce.   One day, while going through the ruins of the city, documents on the tabaxi trade routes and methods were found, as well as supplies that they used to safely traverse the desert. From there, they started to build a society centered around commerce and sent out caravans and explorers in every direction. Everything from religion to government became about trade and wealth, eventually creating a ruthless and highly efficient mafia.
