Druen'grin

In the cities of the Druegar, dark and deep there reside statues of a lone figure with a two handed axe in one hand and a smithy's hammer in the other. His armor is stout and made of stone, with a crown of obsidian spines; eyes like spinels of darkness. The figure looms over the center of these cities, or resides before the garrison of their armies. Here the Ash Hammer has his place, in the dark reaches of the world.    Not forgotten by the children of Moradin, but feared by all...

Divine Domains

Druen'grin has power over the following domains:  Death War Forge

Holy Books & Codes

The Ash Hammer, or 'Askorde' is a text that Druegar priests keep in their temples that denotes the scriptures of their god. It speaks of the betrayal and jealousy of their cousins and how they horde the best of the mines for themselves and the sunlight out of spite for Druen'grin's creation of his beloved children. It dictates the nature of the ash hammer, a forging technique the Druegar use when crafting armor and weapons to enchant them with the ashes of their fallen companions.    There are also a collection of codexes known as: Gashyit'k, or Broken Chain in under common that contains the lessons and journeys of three 'godlings' or children of their god; particularly powerful Druegar who rose to great power and were slain in a battle with the children of Moradin in ancient lost battle at the start of the Age of War, in this battle it depicts Druen'grin's entrapment at the hands of cowardly, tricking, dwarves caught in a prison unable to aid his children in their fight. The three godlings are: Darkscythe Miiringarn, Ashbearer Kahlyss, and Blackshield Torborand. In the battle the three of them managed to kill four godlings that the codex does not name but all were felled and sent beyond.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The holy symbols of Druen'grin are:  An ornate urn full of ashes A small smithing hammer striking downward A black dwarven helm

Tenets of Faith

The tenets of Druen'grin are simple, work the stone and treat it with passion. Succeed at what you do, craft strong gear for the under dark is harsh and violent, use your skill to earn allies that will keep your people safe and build allies to crush your enemies. Expand and conquer the lands that go unclaimed, expand your influence and military to reflect the cunning of your god. And, ultimately, begrudge the surface dwarves in their high mountains for robbing you of your birth right under the sun.

Holidays

The Druegar people celebrate three religious holidays:    Asklorde- The Ash Lord's Day, a celebration of Druen'grin's creation of the druegar and the ash hammer's theft of the other aspects for the deed. It is celebrated with great feasts and contests of strength/craftsmanship on the 12th day of Aushwallen.    Askdurme- The Ash Doom's Day, a lament to the day their people lost their deity and the three godlings of the codex. A day of silence and quiet sermons. After a day of religious worship there is a quietly prepared feast where the attendants eat with ash covered faces, pulled from the largest forges in their city. Performed during the third week of Rostfala.    Askvullen- The Ash Weaver's Glory, a day when the Druegar cities come together and pay respect to their dead. This often devolves into a week long party of celebrations and brewing. A sweet, tangy drink of fermented mushrooms is the specialty of the brewing Druegar.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Having been trapped by a cunning ploy of the four hammer's god children, Druen'grin was imprisoned beneath a volcano that was once on the western coast of Krevlain. But now resides deep in the ocean away from the cities of dwarves. There he still remains trapped, the excellent craftsmanship of Moradin's apprentices keeping him locked in a deep magical slumber. In this space he can reach out to mortals, though weakly, and struggles to strike a pact with one who can be manipulated into freeing him.
