Once, this simple fishing village was part of the Venderbight suburbs, before Venderbight fell and the waters rushed in. Smoke spirals from cottage chimneys. A lonely hill rises behind town.

Fruits of the Sea Festival

The town becomes a centre of celebration once each year for the Fruits of the Sea Festival. Inhabitants of Venderbight take ferries over to the island, and give thanks to the God of Salt and Bone for the bountiful sea that provides food. A long running tradition of the festival is the Fisher's Bizarre, a tournament where fishermen present the strangest catch they have found in the last year. The winner is crowned the Kingfisher, presented with a blue coral crown, and his catch is flung back into the sea.

Mutton Island has a vibrant fishing community. But you can't buy a piece of fish on the island for love nor money. Where does it all go?
