The Cape Clera Maroone

The wild and tropical paradise.

"You trip forward through the thick cluster of glowing baion mushrooms and out of the shaded canopy, landing face first in sand. You look up and the bright sunlight stings your eyes for a moment. As they adjust, you see a vast and shimmering blue horizon before you. As you look left and right you see the rest of the cove and the dense jungle that leans out over the sand. You realize only now that you are in region of the Cape Clera Maroone."

Geography

The majority of this region sits both at the foot of the western side of the Razorbacks and by the coast. This region is filled with dense jungle, abundant with strange glowing mushrooms and giant fungi. The coastal region has the most beautiful shores in all of Bannatrach, with white sand and clear, blue water. The Maroone (an old sailor's word for bay or bight) is filled with many scattered islands and it is also home to the Amberglade City, in the heart of the jungle.

Fauna & Flora

This region his home to the more tropical species of wildlife, such as vibrantly colored birds, dangerous reptiles and the most irritating insects in the west. This region makes up for such dangers though, with it's abundance in rare mushrooms and plant life. It's been said that when the Gnomes fled from their homes in the east before the war, they brought with them the rare animals and plants strictly native to their enchanted forests. These plants and animals seemed to thrive within the Maroone and have since made the region particularly fascinating to both alchemists and ecologists alike.
