The Silver Mountains

The Silver Mountains, known as Slibhtairgid in Elvish and Glitrafjöll in Dwarvish, acts as a natural boarder between the region of Altair and the rest of Gaelynn. It is home to the largest of the dwarven kingdoms, that of Stovordhur. The Silver Mountains is harsh terrain, climbing to such heights that the only safe passage is through Stovordhur and other dwarven outposts. The Goliaths and Giants have called these mountains "Cloud-cutters," and few have dared to climb their peaks.   The military might of the Fjallvergur (mountain dwarves) that call Stovordhur home are all that stands between military conquest and the expansion of imperial boarders to the rest of the continent.

Resources

The wildflowers known as star roses only grow in the crags of the Silver Mountains, and are sacred to Arianrhod. Known and coveted for the magical properties of their silky silver-hued petals which can be used in anything from medicine to divination, and even spells that manipulate or harness time.   Within the caves and caverns under the mountain ranges, there are extensive silver and etherium mines which supply Stovordhur with all needed metals and minerals. An expansive underground wilderness provides all kinds of subterranean flora and fauna, most of which, being bioluminescent or capable of either blindsight or darkvision.   Just like on the surface world of Tarana, many crystal spires rise from the ground, and more even extend from the ceiling making mana and aether more readily available for potential and prospective spellcasters.

Natives of the Silver Mountains

A few different races call the Silver Mountains home, most prevalent of which are the Fjallvergur. One could also encounter Terron, Deep Gnomes, and Drow under the mountains, and over the mountains one might encounter Harrowfeather Kenku, Mountain Orcs, and Stoneborn Goliaths.
