Crawler

Giant spider-like creatures that are native to Syklov, specifically the Deep Forest of Syklov. They are ridden using saddles that can typically carry up to four people, and keep people strapped to them with rope or belts. Crawlers are shy and sensitive to noise and light. Each crawler has a dedicated rider who trains for a long time and raises their crawler from the time it hatches - crawler and rider develop a very deep, lifelong connection.

Crawlers are used for transportation in Syklov. They are the only transportation to get to the most isolated settlements in the country, and often are the only transportation other than the old, somewhat unreliable system of rope-bridge highways. In Avangard, they can be used to jump between layers of the city but this is not a standard practice due to the crawlers' low tolerance for Avangard's noise and population.
