The Hollow

By Sisi
The Hollow is home to the Woodland Nymphs to them it is considered a city but is more of a hamlet. The Nymphs mostly reside in the rare psithur tree (the only one in the forest). Here you can find Finnigan Greenwood's cottage otherwise referred to as the Warlock's Chalet which has been seen by some folk of Phylo from a distance and is the closest non-nymph building to the psithur tree.

Infrastructure

The Woodland Nymphs mostly reside in the rare psithur tree which is the only one in the Woods of Paeylos. Psithur trees are the only kind of trees that are able to withstand Woodland Nymph colonies, and are at risk due to the fact its magical wood is usually taken by humans to practice lower forms of witchcraft (the main reason why it separated in the first place). Another staple of The Hollow is the bridge that crosses the Tai river (Yelm to Oe).

Guilds and Factions

Although extremely small The Hallow is split up into five main areas:
  • The Psithur Tree
  • Yelm (the surrounding of the Psithur tree)
  • Oa (the other side of Tai River/stream)
  • The Noma (feared by many, it is the area outside of the forest where the Warlock's Chalet is)
  • Urja/The Paeylos Woods (since Woodland Nymphs prefer to be condensed they spared the rest of the lands)

History

The Hollow was once a part of its neighbouring town Phylo but with the help from the Witch of Paeylos it later separated due to the Woodland Nymphs' fear of exposure yet there are still a few non-nymphs who inhabit the nearby area. The story behind the separation is quite notable as Tai a brave young Woodland Nymph from The Hollow (at the time was Phylo) travelled all the way to Paeylos to discuss with the Witch on the separation where she then excepted his request. They then renamed the river in honour of Tai.

Tourism

Although the people of Phylo are aware of this forbidden area they are still unable to trespass it under the orders of the Witch of Paeylos' so for many years now it has been blocked off from the rest of society. Over time the knowledge of the Nymphs was forgotten and it slowly became mysterious land. The people of Phylo question and theorize on why it is forbidden to enter but none have come close to the actual truth.

Architecture

Most of the residents who live in the Psithur tree The houses are made from sticks, stones, and mud.

Geography

The Hollow is a small area that hugs the Woods of Paeylos beside the town of Phylo. A unique aspect of The Hollow is the Tai River which to a human is merely a stream. The rolling countryside of its neighbouring town Phylo allows it to have a beautiful view southwards.
