Welcome to Tanju!

Tanju was originally created for the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition TTRPG.

On the northern continent of Taan-jia, the center of civilization is the Ji-laani Kingdom formed from eight previously independent human nations. They trade with the dwarves and gnomes of the Crescent Mountains to the north and with halflings in the Malachad Hills to the east, while their arms reach ever southward through the jungle to the port they've established that has connected the continent to the southern continent of Tor'zanbe. Also found on this continent are the dragon-sculpted lands of dragonborn and kobolds in the north, the warforged city-states in a desert now ravaged by the wars of gods, a formerly elvish Empire now ruled by fanatical yuan-ti, and the badlands where orcs and goblinoids try to eke out an existence under the influence of four factions often violently clashing.   On the southern continent of Tor'zanbe, three civilizations have claimed corners of the continent where they stay well away from one another. The nation of Elouvria was founded by angels and fiends and populated by aasimar and tieflings in the west where their cultures collide into a city of unity between shadow and light. The Duldraje Dominion claims the northeastern lands they called home even before elementals pushed them into an age of terror, an age they ended and now prevent from recurring through the cooperation of goliaths, genasi, and gnolls. The aaracokra city-states of the southeastern mountains have banded together under the Rakkis Consulate and now lay claim to the clans of lizardfolk, kenku, tabaxi, and tortles that live below them. Interspersed between these nations are the tribes and clans of minotaurs, centaurs, tabaxi, and various other races that call the continent home.   Every day, the world gets a little bit bigger as trade expands between the continents. With interactions between races becoming more common, not all meetings end well, and tensions are rising between old enemies as some of their number attempt to bring about peace. Criminal elements and political dissidents are appearing across the globe, with whispers of shape-changing deceivers contributing to the conflicts within and between nations. Pirates have quickly taken over sea trade routes, and ancient maddening whispers stir from deep within the earth. Legends say that the gods that are were not always the most powerful beings, and that old gods slumber, awaiting a chance to reclaim what is theirs.
