Sun

Soothing Light

(a.k.a. Senka, Taeyan, La'sulu, or Taiyo)

Taeyan reminds us that we must not only protect what we have, but enjoy its presence for one day all will fade. Her light tells us to rise every morning and live, spending time with those we cherish.
— Yeun-ji, Jangmunyo of Dosi-Senan
The counterpart to Moon, Sun once drifted among the vast emptiness with its partner in the time before Tanju. Its light kept Moon warm and comforted in the otherwise vast expanse, and even after Moon’s breaking, Sun's warmth continues to soothe its broken friend and bring light to the people of Tanju. It is said that the stars are pieces of Sun’s light that it suspended in the night sky to remind Moon that even when Sun is dormant, it will always be there to protect Moon. Sun's followers are often protectors of holy sites to Sun and Moon, or elite guards of the communities they come from. A sun shaman is ever watchful over that which they hold dear, and their ire is a deadly thing indeed.   Much like any of its fellow gods, Sun’s worship has a darker side. Some of its worshippers use its light as an instrument of vengeance, hoping to eradicate those who would do them harm. These aggressive followers generally follow War alongside Sun, combining their ideologies into one deadly amalgam of destruction.   Sun is most often depicted alongside Moon, and is similarly almost always female. She places herself in front of Moon, wearing a crown of flames and an expression of passionate defiance. She is beautiful and soft, concealing fiery will beneath.
