Precious Breath

(a.k.a. Zivota, Sanyeong, Fa'lao, or Seikatse)

Sanyeong reminds us that all things hold the precious breath she gifted us. It is our responsibility to protect this life and give it meaning, but without her blessing we would never have the choice at all. We would be unmoving statues without the breath she sacrifices for us.
— Yeun-ji, Jangmunyo of Dosi-Senan
Life was the second of the four gods to be born from Moon’s sundering, and it remained alongside Nature to mourn Moon while the other gods set off across the cosmos. She watched as Nature molded the planet Tanju and its seven moons from Moon’s remains, and was fascinated by the intricate sculptures it made that would become the creatures of the world. Life loved these figures, but was disappointed that they could not move. As an experiment, Life infused a small amount of its power in the form of its breath into one of the fragile little things, and to its delight, the creature began to move. So it has been for all of creation; Nature creates the bodies of every living creature, and Life’s breath animates them.   Followers of Life often go hand in hand with those who follow Nature, since their purposes are interwoven. Life shaman tend to the sick and wounded, fending off the greed of Death until it is their time. They assist Nature in protecting the beauty of the natural world, and they often play vital roles in raising animals and crops for their community, ensuring that nothing goes to waste.   Life is often depicted as female or androgynous, and is almost always alongside its partner and counterpart, Nature. It is often wispy in stature, barely touching the ground as its hair whirls around it, floating on a breeze of life’s breath.
