Fléaudeselfe, Sword of the King

Fléaudeselfe is the legendary sword of Charle de Gallia, first King of Gallia. Its name means Elf Bane, so named for it supposedly having been used to slay over a thousand Elven legionaires by de Gallia. It is referred to as the Sword of the King for this reason - it is the sword of the first king of the kingdom, and for any other to truly claim it as their own would be foolish.   It is unknown whether the blade has any magical properties or is simply an ancient and well-kept relic. Certainly it is a fine sword, and the only indicator of its age is the styling of the weapon. Some say that it can cleave through steel, others suggest it makes its bearer invincible or invulnerable, and a few even say it wields the divine might of Gallis Toutatis, the godly protector of the kingdom itself, a role which the king symbolically takes on.

Significance

This legendary weapon is a symbol of de Gallia's power and prestige, and according to legend, can only be wielded by the one de Gallia chooses as his heir, though this is likely simply royal propaganda. It has been many years since it was used in battle, since given its symbolic purpose, losing it in the fray would be seriously disheartening and demoralising, and any monarch foolish enough to do so may find themselves deemed unworthy by the people.

Rarity
The blade is a one-of-a-kind relic, a piece of exquisite craftsmanship in its day, made legendary by the use of its heroic bearer. Whether the blade made his legend or he the blade's is a matter of popular debate, though to the common people of Gallia, it is simple - Fléaudeselfe is the Sword of the King, his mandate of rule made manifest, and it is the authority of the monarch.
