Dwarves

Basic History

When the Dwarves rose out of the depths of the lands with the elves, they didn't know what to do. They were guided by elves toward magic, but most found they had not the capacity for it. Most became Smiths and soldiers due to their hardy nature. When Old magic re-emerged, the dwarves found they could work with it easily. The elves, however, outlawed using old magic in battle. Most have followed this law to date. Since the first years of civilization, the dwarves have made their own mark on the world through forging weapons and armor fused with rune magic.

Culture

It is to be said, that a dwarven wizard is rare. So much so, that a dwarven sorcerer or warlock is much more common. There are almost no dwarven clerics since most follow elven gods and find it hard to connect with them. Dwarves have little connection with magic outside of rune magic.

Added Mechanics

  • Dwarves have an inherent sense as to the nature of a rune formula's use.
  • Dwarves are much luckier then others when it comes to backlash magic from runes.
